We grow Cornish Cross poultry because it grows to a nice shape and is a very pleasant bird. Although these are a breed of bird often known for their use in the industrial farming method, we find that they do very well in a traditional pastured environment. Certainly they have the flavor of any other bird and we think this is because of the magic combination of fresh air, fresh food, and lots of green grass. This year we have managed to pull off the seemingly simple task of stockpiling enough chicken to last through winter.

Why is that hard, right?

Well it’s because of two important factors: Firstly, we never raise anything in a barn or shed so the pasture is only available to use between early April and late October. The ground is just too cold and contains none of the goodness that make our chickens wholesome.

Secondly, because our chicken is so wholesome it’s also DELICIOUS so keeping it from disappearing fast is hard. Our customers get it while they can and we are committed to doing our best to keep you stocked up all year round. Our birds do vary in size but we never sell a bird less than 4lbs, oven ready no giblets. We harvest, process, and package them right here on the farm to ensure that they are treated with respect and the quality is as high as our expectations.
